Bella

Fifteen-year-old Bella means everything to her dad. When she began exhibiting signs of pain and stopped eating, Dad knew she needed medical attention immediately. As a retired person, he worried about how he would cover the cost of her care. Thankfully, her vet referred them to the FACE Foundation.

Shorty

Super senior, Shorty, an 18-year-old miniature schnauzer, was surrendered to Sacramento SPCA because his previous owner said he was “too old and sickly." Shorty was matched with a foster and, feeling better, his true personality came out! This “too old” super senior still had plenty of spunk and love to give.

Pepper

A Naperville Area Humane Society volunteer asked for help when he found out that his neighbor was going into hospice and senior dog, Pepper, would be surrendered. The man had no family willing to take Pepper. NAHS knew they needed to step in.
Prior to making Pepper available for adoption, NAHS staff needed to be sure he was healthy and well-groomed. His physical transformation is so striking - It’s easy to tell how desperately he needed to be groomed!

Jackson

Senior stray, Jackson, was found by a former Austin Humane Society employee and brought to the shelter. Very sick when he arrived, Jackson showed signs of skin infection, heart murmur, and severe dental disease. Thanks to a grant from Grey Muzzle, he was able to be seen at AHS’ specialty cardiology veterinary clinic, where he was cleared for dental surgery.
