"Daisy" by Kristin Boes
I'd been wanting a dog for a while, and I'd pretty much decided on a senior dog for several reasons: 1. We have three cats and I thought a younger dog would be too rambunctious for them.2. We aren't particularly active people, so something a little more mellow would work better3. I knew they were less likely to get adopted4. Honestly, I wasn't sure how I would wind up liking the work of a dog, so a two to five year commitment seemed smarter than 15-20.

My first love and faithful companion of 14 years you fought courageously until the very end and are now able to run and play again with grandma. Until I see you again, my darling girl I will carry you with me in my heart.
Coco and Mootsie
Coco, age 14, and Mootsie, age 12, are two lovely Maltese/poodle mixes who found their way to Tyson's Place Animal Rescue in Michigan when their human companion, who is in his 80s, had health problems that put him into a nursing home.
