What is Cannabidiol (CBD)?The active ingredients in hemp and marijuana are called cannabinoids. The most widely recognized cannabinoids are cannabidiol (CBD) and delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). These compounds affect the body by binding to receptors in the brain and immune systems. Hemp-based products are the primary source of CBD supplements used by pet-owners, and these supplements lack the higher levels of THC that cause the “high” sensation seen with marijuana use.

Elder Paws Senior Dog Foundation received a grant from Grey Muzzle for its “Pandora Fund” Pet Retention Program in September of 2016, with the goal of preventing dogs from being surrendered into the shelter system. This program has helped dogs like Bella.

Operation Grey Muzzle Takes Flight, Bringing Senior “Satos” to New Homes
More than 200 dogs, including many seniors, will take off from Puerto Rico on their way to new lives on the mainland United States on August 23. The Grey Muzzle Organization is proud to be among several animal welfare groups who are partnering with the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) to give these deserving older dogs a second chance.
