Dudley
Grey Muzzle's grant to OldDog Haven paid for the medical care for six hospice dogs in 2010. Dudley was a very old Golden Retriever who joined a group of other "old fogey" dogs at an OldDog Haven foster home.
Francesca
"Francesca Solara was not adoptable by ordinary standards when she came to us. Abandoned on the streets of a Cleveland, Ohio suburb, Independence, she was frightened, ill, and arthritic... she not only survived, she flourished. And her winsome ways charmed everyone.."
Princess
Princess was living with her racing owner since the time she was born. In September, we received a call from her owner saying she needed to find her a new home.
Monte
Monte is a 10+ year-old miniature pinscher mix, found wandering the streets and brought in by a Good Samaritan. While he is mostly blind, underweight and battling an infection, he has settled nicely in his foster home.
Chester
Chester, a tan, black and beige Yorkie, was one of the worst cruelty cases I have witnessed at the Rutherford County Animal Control Facility. He was picked up by an Animal Control Officer.
Janie
Posh Pets rescue in New York City took 8-year-old Janie from a local government animal control shelter and immediately brought her to the vet’s office for a checkup.
Vera
11-year-old Vera had been waiting in a kennel for adoption for two years, yet no adoption group was able to take her. Greyhound Pets of America-Wisconsin stepped up to help Vera and her old friend NickyNack.
Baby
Last month we learned that 13-year-old Baby, a mini-dachshund, entered the hospice program at Central Texas Dachshund Rescue. CTDR says, "Baby came to us with her buddy after spending her entire life in the backyard of her home..."
Halo
Halo, an old chocolate lab, was found as a stray in rural Ohio and taken to the local shelter. Southwest Pennsylvania Retriever Rescue (SPARRO) works on a regular basis with this shelter and was happy to make the 300 mile drive to pick Halo up there.
Nolan
Nolan is a nice, older dog who was left behind in an empty house when his former humans moved out. He was picked up by animal control where he was near the top of their list for euthanasia. He was horribly matted when he came to Saint Louis Senior Dog Project.
Mooter
Mooter, a spaniel mix, spent his nine years of life on the end of a chain. Community Partnership for Pets worked with Grey Muzzle to find a home for Mooter. Saint Louis Senior Dog Project took Mooter and three other seniors.
Cabot
Cabot was rescued from animal control by St. Louis Senior Dog Project, and Grey Muzzle paid for his medical care. How he ended up as a stray picked up by animal control we'll never know.
Molly
Sweet senior Molly was turned in to Southwest Pennsylvania Retriever Rescue (SPARRO) by her owners. She had a full body yeast infection, infected ears, and had lost most of her fur.
Angelica
Angelica, 12 years old, was scheduled to be euthanized when a volunteer from German Shepherd Rescue of Northern California (GSRNC) brought her into their hospice care program.
Claire
The victim of horrendous conditions with a hoarder, sweet little Claire was rescued by Blind Dog Rescue Alliance. A grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization helped cover her medical expenses to give her a second chance, and Claire flourished under a loving foster mom.
