Meet Mercedes! She's available for adoption at the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
BIG FAN OF: Companionship. She loves people.
NOT A FAN OF: Cats. She needs a home without them.
SPECIAL FEATURES: Mercedes is a polite house dog who loves to be with you as you go about your day. Give her a comfy place to curl up, and she's content to just hang out near you. She will enjoy brief walks before coming back in for a nap. We are requiring that she meet any dogs in your home before adoption to make sure everyone's a great match. She has done great with the school-age children in her foster home.
OTHER REASONS SHE'S SPECIAL: Mercedes has arthritis in both of her knees, as well as an injury to her cranial cruciate ligament. We can provide more info about these conditions, but if you have further questions about treatment and care, we would recommend speaking to your regular veterinarian before adoption.
DREAM HOME: With a loving family who will provide a big bed for her to relax on, lots of petting and a fulfilling place in the family. She is an incredibly sweet girl who is so deserving of a great home!
This dog is part of our Silver Paw program, a foster and adoption program specifically for senior pets who have lived with an elderly person who has either passed away or been moved to a residential facility where they're unable to keep their pet.
