    Humane Society of Huron Valley
    Funded in 2024

For over 125 years, the Humane Society of Huron Valley has served the community, saving animals and helping people. Today, they are an award-winning shelter in Washtenaw County, MI, helping over 24,000 animals through various services annually. HSHV is an award-winning organization recognized for best practices and the highest animal "save rate" among all similar shelters in Michigan.

The Grey Muzzle Organization grant will help HSHV’s Friends for Life program provide free medical and dental care to senior dogs whose families are facing financial insecurity. The funding will cover preventative care, including vaccines, full dental cleanings, and critical medical care that would otherwise not be attainable. By removing barriers to obtaining veterinary care, HSHV ensures that beloved senior dogs, like 15-year-old Gracie, can remain in their loving home, have a higher quality of life, and extend their time with their caregivers.
