Snuggles

Snuggles is an 18-year-old (yes, 18!) Rat Terrier mix. Her dad Tim is a veteran and just adores Snuggles. Unfortunately, Tim reached out to Asheville Humane Society (AHS) because he was in need of some help and didn’t know where else to turn.

When staff at AHS met them, they could immediately tell that Tim and Snuggles shared a close bond, and in fact, they had been together since Snuggles was just a puppy. Although Tim was desperately in need of an intensive surgery to remove tumors on his kidneys, he did not want to lose Snuggles.

AHS was able to shelter Snuggles first through their temporary boarding program and then move her off site to one of their temporary boarding partners. While Tim was struggling with his own health issues, Snuggles was also facing her own health problems with a painful cancerous tumor on her foot. Thanks to the generous support of The Grey Muzzle Organization, Snuggles was able to have the surgery she needed so she would be happy, healthy and ready to reunite with her loving dad!
