At 12 years old, Mikayla’s life took an unexpected turn when her longtime owner had to surrender her to a New York City shelter. But thanks to a Grey Muzzle grant, North Country Pet Adoption Services was able to step in and give Mikayla the care she needed, including vital dental treatment, to prepare her for a brighter future.
Today, Mikayla is thriving in her new forever home with a family that adores senior dogs. Her new mom says she’s “doing great and loving farm life”!
